Text to speech.

Had some fun talking to each other at work using this thing. We debated using it to talk to people on the phone, but figured it may get us into trouble. :o)

And yes, it can pronounce curse words, with surprising accuracy.

#2 @ Yahoo, and #3 at MSN for my Saturn entry. Must mean there's quite a few ppl with VUEs with issues.

Just for kicks, I searched for my blog's name, Prismatic Dragon.

#9 at Yahoo, and #12 at MSN.

and #13 at google (pg 2, 3rd on the page).

Woot!

8 months later, still getting comments…

Friday, April 16, 2004
So, I wonder how people are finding my entry from August 2003 about the problems we've had with our Saturn VUE?

Do they come to my blog and do a search? Well, according to my activity log, that's only been done once.

Is my entry linked somewhere (other than when I linked it above)? Or do they just come across my blog and start reading it from day 1 (I have done that with a couple people's blogs myself)?

Meh. Just curious. I get about two comments every other month, and since the entry is so old I was just wondering how people were finding it.

pyromaniac…

I too, am playing "City of Heroes", like Josh is.

I also chose "mutation" and "blaster".

But I burn things.
Fireballs, flares, and a ring of fire are what I can do so far. Oh, and a sword of fire, too.

I dressed my character real evil-like. Since this is the beta, we probably won't be able to keep our characters that we created once the game goes live, and if so, I'll create another that looks very much like the one I created for the beta.

Evil looking.

Because if they ever implement super villians and give players the option to turn to the other side with an existing character, she will be one who does just that. Just because it seems like it would be fun to go around burning innocent NPCs (non-player-characters, for the online-gaming impaired), and picking fights with the super heroes.

I've played online games like this before but was never one for the player vs player before. Probably because I never played long enough to get my characters at very high levels... but this game is fun, and I can foresee lots of time wasted sitting in front of my computer playing this game... enough so that I may even finally have a high level character that would actually stand a chance in a PVP fight...

Hehe.

Edited to add a pic of my character

H-E-double hockey stix

That's what tonight is.
There's just no even ground... last night it was utterly boring, tonight we're busy little bees... trouble after trouble.

On the bright side, it does make for a rather fast-moving evening. :o)

we’re talking enhancements..

I had a follow up eye appointment Tuesday morning.

My eyesight is slowly getting worse.

Funny, isn't it supposed to be getting better? I didn't fork out $3k* to get my eyes lasered for this not to work. >:-|

Anyway. I go back again in three weeks, so the dr can check them one more time, and if they don't change in that timespan, then they will schedule me for an enhancement. Which is coming out of their pockets, because it's within one year of my initial surgery.

Oh joy. Thing is I don't think they have to "cut" my flap again, they just gotta peel it up (that is why patients are not allowed to rub their eyes for years after their surgery... 'cause it takes so long to fully heal, IF it ever really fully heals).

Pretty picture, I know. 😕 Not really looking forward to it, but it better friggin fix my eyes.

Transitioning to a new sleep schedule is always rough.
Technically we go in tonight at midnight for our first day of our stint on graveyards..

Right now I'm fighting to stay awake. I took a nap from 5:00a - 5:30a and haven't really woken up since. If I sit still for too long I start to nod off...

This royally sucks. Hopefully as the week goes by we'll get more adjusted to a graveyard shift sleep schedule.

It doesn't help that even though on our first night we stayed up until 4am, and ended up waking at 11am... without the alarm...

The next day I stayed up until 9:30am (we had an appointment for the A/C people to come do a checkup on our A/C unit)... and woke up at 3:30p... again, without the alarm.

I am not liking that trend. Not necessarily the waking up without the alarm part, but the sleeping for only 7 hours or less when I'm trying to modify my sleep patterns. Ugh.

Today I'm waiting for 8am to roll around so I can call the glass people to find out what time they'll be coming over this morning to install the new window. Then we'll have to keep ourselves awake until they're done with that. Oh goody.
