niki @ diamondbacks baseball game = jinxed
Thursday, April 29, 2004
I probably shouldn't ever attend another Diamondbacks home game, again. Ever.I don't remember how many I've been to, maybe five or six, but I don't think they've ever won a game that I've attended.
I must be jinxed. I mean, the previous two games in the series, they smacked the Cubs down like flies. The Cubs lost, by a lot.
But last night... final score was 4-3, Cubs.
It probably didn't help that the only points scored were by the same player, all three single home runs... by Steve Finley.
I was even at the game a year or two back where the Dbacks were absolutely spanked (I forget which team they played), 20 - 1. That's the famous game where Mark Grace pitched an inning. And for those of you who don't know, Grace was our first baseman.
So how can I not think I'm jinxed, at least with them? Coyotes hockey doesn't fare much better.. I think they may have won once in the less than 10 games I think I've attended. That's not a very good ratio.
I think the only sports team that has one more than one game that I attended was Mustangs Hockey (IHL). But after them, it was just all downhill.
On a side note, though, Josh & I both swear we saw Wayne Gretzky walking through the food court breezeway when we first got there. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't, but it surely looked like him!

Ahh.. there's nothing like the sound of a cat trying to hork up a hairball.
entertaining…
Text to speech.Had some fun talking to each other at work using this thing. We debated using it to talk to people on the phone, but figured it may get us into trouble. :o)
And yes, it can pronounce curse words, with surprising accuracy.
That’s almost creepy…

#2 @ Yahoo, and #3 at MSN for my Saturn entry. Must mean there's quite a few ppl with VUEs with issues.Just for kicks, I searched for my blog's name, Prismatic Dragon.
#9 at Yahoo, and #12 at MSN.
and #13 at google (pg 2, 3rd on the page).
Woot!
8 months later, still getting comments…
Friday, April 16, 2004
So, I wonder how people are finding my entry from August 2003 about the problems we've had with our Saturn VUE?Do they come to my blog and do a search? Well, according to my activity log, that's only been done once.
Is my entry linked somewhere (other than when I linked it above)? Or do they just come across my blog and start reading it from day 1 (I have done that with a couple people's blogs myself)?
Meh. Just curious. I get about two comments every other month, and since the entry is so old I was just wondering how people were finding it.
He’s aware…
'nother update on my brother...Today he is conscious. He knows his name, and realizes he's strapped into the hospital bed, and isn't too happy about it.. He's now saying, "Get me out of here"... however his speech isn't clear, it's more or less slurred. Although we're not sure if this is because of grogginess or as a result of the brain injury... time will tell.
They're going to try to move him out of the ICU today, as well as try to feed him solid foods.
Thanks to everyone who's been keeping him in their thoughts &/or prayers.
making progress…

I got another update from my parents about my brother...He is starting to become aware of things. The nurses will ask him to do things (move his finger, etc), and he responds by doing what they ask.
Sometime last night my dad was talking to him, and my brother opened his eyes & mumbled. That was the first time he'd done that since he's been in the hospital.
So he's making progress, which is good. Now we just wait and see just how much damage his brain suffered in the injury.
pyromaniac…
I too, am playing "City of Heroes", like Josh is.I also chose "mutation" and "blaster".
But I burn things.
Fireballs, flares, and a ring of fire are what I can do so far. Oh, and a sword of fire, too.
I dressed my character real evil-like. Since this is the beta, we probably won't be able to keep our characters that we created once the game goes live, and if so, I'll create another that looks very much like the one I created for the beta.
Evil looking.
Because if they ever implement super villians and give players the option to turn to the other side with an existing character, she will be one who does just that. Just because it seems like it would be fun to go around burning innocent NPCs (non-player-characters, for the online-gaming impaired), and picking fights with the super heroes.
I've played online games like this before but was never one for the player vs player before. Probably because I never played long enough to get my characters at very high levels... but this game is fun, and I can foresee lots of time wasted sitting in front of my computer playing this game... enough so that I may even finally have a high level character that would actually stand a chance in a PVP fight...
Hehe.
Edited to add a pic of my character
H-E-double hockey stix
That's what tonight is.There's just no even ground... last night it was utterly boring, tonight we're busy little bees... trouble after trouble.
On the bright side, it does make for a rather fast-moving evening. :o)
They’ve finally used the word…
...coma**.Even though he thrashes, tries to sit up and opens his eyes, because he is not aware of his surroundings and does not acknowledge them when my family tries to talk to him, he is technically in a coma.
They also finally admitted to my family that there was a fracture at the base of his skull.
Way to withold information, you bunch of prats.
There is talk of moving him out of the ICU and into a normal room in a few days, or even to a rehabilitation facility so they can do physical therapy to keep his muscles from atrophying, since they can do the same monitoring of his vital stats there as well...
