I need some assistance... I have an idea in redesigning my blog here, and I want to use a specific font, but damned if I can remember the name of the stupid thing.. I used it before, but I don't think it's installed currently.. and the file I used to create this graphic does not have the unadulterated font in any of the layers:
Any help would be appreciated... I'll probably be spending a couple of hours today trying to search for it.
Thanks!

so I'll share with you what I received for Christmas this year.A gift card/gift certificate to Aaron Brothers, JoAnn Etc, and "any place that sells shoes" from Josh's mom.
A gift card to Michael's art & craft from Josh's grandmother.
A gift card to Bath & Body Works from Josh's brother & sister-in-law.
A gift card to Best Buy & JoAnn Etc, and a Gold Canyon candle from Josh's dad.
(do we see a trend developing here? It's because I had no frigging CLUE what I wanted for Christmas, so I asked for gift cards)
From my side of the family, I got an angel snow globe from my niece (technically from my brother, but it said it was from his daughter).
A body splash / lotion combo from my parents..
A bottle of imitation perfume (imitating "Red") from my cousins.
And a model car, a 1932 Cadillac Sport Phaeton v16, from my dad. With a note that said "I've always wanted to buy you an expensive car". I thought it was touching and cute.. I know my dad has always wanted to buy me a car but hasn't ever been able to afford it... and probably never will.
Oh, and how can I forget.. I got a lithium-ion cordless Dremel tool from Josh, with an extra polishing set.. we already used it to polish the brass door knob in our bathroom (quite tarnished), and part of the door knob in my office.. Strangely those two were the only handles that are tarnished. But the polishing wheel works like a charm!
I also used it to polish some polymer clay items (non-dragon) rather than doing it by hand.. It didn't give them a high shine, but rather a matte shine (instead of the dull matte of baked clay).
And, as mentioned by Josh in his entry about his xmas haul, we also have a networked printer that was a gift to ourselves. It's wireless, even! I haven't used it yet, but I think Josh has and it works pretty well. Finally I won't have to transfer stuff I want to print to the little laptop we had hooked up to the other printer.. :o)
That about covers it. So, how did your holiday go?
Move along, nothing to see
I think I should check MT's activity log a little more often.Someone at the DOJ was being a tad bit naughty:
2003.11.19 17:31:46 *.*.*.* Search: query for 'sex'
2003.11.19 17:33:48 *.*.*.* Search: query for 'masturbate'
2003.11.19 17:33:54 *.*.*.* Search: query for 'clit'
2003.11.19 17:33:59 *.*.*.* Search: query for 'dildo'
I took out their IP, of course, in case it's anyone who visits here with any regularity.. but it did come back as belonging to the US DOJ.
The things that make you go "hmmmmm...."
And the saga continues…
Q: How long does it take USPS to deliver a package?A: As long as they deem necessary.
The Xbox I shipped still is not there yet!! Really, is it so much to ask for something to be delivered in an even remotely decent amount of time? Hmm? I know they were busy for the holidays and all, but this is starting to get a little stupid.
11 days and counting... (from Dec 19, and yes, I'm including Sundays, because the post office doesn't stop working on Sunday) for a Priority Mail package that should have been there in three to four days from the ship date.
I don't think they lost the package, considering the thing weighs a good fifteen pounds and is 20" long & wide and 10" high. It's a large box, kind of hard to misplace, you know?
It better show up soon. >:-[
Happy Holidays!

Nice post for the first one of Christmas, that was, eh?Well, I hope everyone has a great holiday. Don't get too stuffed on holiday goodies today!
Crappity crap!
Stupid post office. Now some kid in New York won't be getting his Xbox for Christmas because they couldn't deliver it in less than SIX friggin days... via Priority Mail, no less.
Was trying to keep shipping cheap for this lady, and figured priority mail would get it there by the 24th. I should have known. Grrr.
Lesson learned... Use expensive shipping that guarantees a delivery date if you want something before Christmas if you ship it with less than 7 days before that holiday. Oye.

Taking a brief break from house cleaning. Gonna have Josh's dad & possibly his brother over in the morning, and the house is a mess. And I still have Christmas Eve festivities to attend this evening with Josh's mom, step-dad, brother, and sister-in-law.
Which reminds me... I still have a couple gifts to wrap, too.
I knew I should have dragged my sorry butt out of bed earlier this morning... But, I just love sleeping more than cleaning!
Back to work I suppose. Bleh.

Just a question for anyone who reads and cares to respond...How many of you had to have a degree (or some form of certification) in order to get the job you currently hold?
My job doesn't require a degree or certification, although they favor applicants who have them.
Just curious.
A task for Wednesday

I think I'll save upgrading MT for Wednesday morning... or Thursday night, after the family festivities...

As if I didn't have enough hobbies already, I decided I wanted to try learning to knit. After reading through some other bloggers' knitting journals, I figured I'd give it a shot and see if it's something I'd like. I crocheted a long time ago when I was a kid, but I've never knitted before.I chose a baby blanket for my first project. It will be for my niece when it's done. I wanted to keep it simple, as in, no sewing.
Can you believe I managed to screw it up from the very first stitch? It called for 146 stitches to be cast on... and I screwed those up. Not in the count, but in the stitch. I didn't realize until I finished all 146 stitches and tried to start the next row that I'd done the stitches completely wrong. Leave it to me to screw up casting on. Oye.
How did I screw it up? Well, instead of having a nice neat row of 146 single stitches, it looked like every stitch was doubled. (And no, I did not lose count, so hush it). I guess I looped the yarn wrong so it doubled up on the needle when it was pulled through. I'm not even sure that I could duplicate that now that I know the right way to do it.
I bought a software CD that has instructions on how to do certain stitches, and that helped, especially with the K2 tog.. I just couldn't figure that one out by looking at the instructions (there were no pictures with the pattern to help with that part), even though it is entirely logical. I still think the yarn over from purl to knit stitches is a little weird, since it appears to add a stitch, but maybe I'm doing something wrong.
Something I haven't been able to master is using my right index finger to move the yarn over the needle and stuff. I've tried but my finger just doesn't want to cooperate. So, I use my thumb & index finger together. Probably slows things down a little, but it still gets the job done.
I'll probably post a picture when I'm done with it, although that may be at least a week I think. But we'll see.
