If you were to walk in my shoes…

Friday, February 27, 2004
...your feet would probably be screaming at you right now. Unless you're accustomed to 4" heels.

And I'm not.

But, I did find a set of Dr. Scholl's insole thingies that I'm trying, and it's damn near amazing...

I had tried a foam foot thing at the balls of my feet... aching footsies and nearly impossible to walk after 30 minutes. toss...

I next tried a Dr. Scholl's gel thing for the balls of the feet... also aching footsies after 30 minutes. And yes, 30 minutes of standing (I had stuff to do in the kitchen) set 'em aside (they may not work for this pair of shoes, but they'll probably work in something else.)

My last resort was a product from Dr. Scholl's called the "Air-Pillo Gel Insoles".

I tried these immediately after removing the other Dr. Scholl's inserts.

It's as if my feet were never aching to begin with! I think these will do just fine. I'll wear these shoes with these insoles until I have to leave for dinner tonight and see how well they work (well, I may take them off to go over to the neighbors' to talk to the mom about the window her kids broke).

Anyway, why such high heels, you may ask, when I hardly ever wear heels over two inches? Three reasons:

1) Because they're just so perty!

2) Because the damn things were deceivingly comfortable when I tried them on.

3) Because they cost $20.

mother f’in, g*d damned kids!!

There is a house to the south from us (across the backyard fence), which is home to a family. This family has children, I'd say at the mimimum, two, maybe more than that. There's a possibility that the lady there may also even babysit even more children.

Our yard, over the last four years, has become littered with their toys, which get thrown over the fence into our yard.

We even had one of those big bouncey balls that has a handle on them and kids sit on them and hop around on fall into our yard. We didn't return it, it's now nearly flat (in the voice of Nelson from the Simpsons, Ha - haa!!).

In fact, we've never returned any of their toys, we figure if they miss them they'd stop by our house and ask for them.

There are also a few baseballs and tennis balls that have come over the fence.

We didn't really mind any of this since our yard is not done (it's just dirt, weeds, and a section of winter-dormant (we hope, anyway) grass.

Until today.

The stream of profanity that wants to escape from my mouth right now would make a sailor's ears bleed.

We don't even know when this happened, we rarely open our blinds on this window, or go into the back yard... but it was recently, within the last couple of months I believe, as we did open the window at least once in the new year on one of Phoenix's nicer days this winter...

I don't even have any idea how much it costs to replace a window, especially one that large.

Here is a picture of the proof that this baseball is the one that did the damage:

ball_01.jpg

And here is a close up of the imprint. You can even see where the ball hit the bottom of the window frame!

I plan on going over to the neighbors house this morning, ball in hand, to let them know their kids finally damaged our property with all of the shit they've been throwing over the fence, and it would behoove them to pay up for the damages.

Grrr........

It’s the sound of music!

Thursday, February 26, 2004
Thanks for the suggestions.

Since I had chosen Kenny G's "The Wedding Song" as my processional and I couldn't find any non-KG songs to fit well with that one, I opted to go all Kenny G. They seem to fit well.

"Innocence" - Kenny G
"The Wedding Song" - Kenny G
"What a Wonderful World" - Kenny G & Louis Armstrong

I've seen people post MP3s on their blogs, albeit briefly, for others to download and listen to... I'm just curious, isn't that something that can get you nailed if the recording companies feel obligated to attack you for violating copyright? Seems a little risky to me... otherwise I'd put these three up for your listening pleasure. Oh well.

Just call me, Miss Procrastinator

Wednesday, February 25, 2004
I'm still trying to figure out what music to use as our recessional. I don't want the traditional wedding march. I'm not using the traditional wedding processional (the here comes the bride tune), either..

I also need to pick a separate song for the bridesmaids entrance part of the processional, I was going to use the same song for both them and me, but figured it'd be better if they were different.

I've chosen Kenny G's "Wedding Song" for my entrance.

Less than 5 days left and I still don't have all my music picked out (those are the only ones left, really). I bet the DJ is banging his head against a wall, exclaiming, "Why didn't she have this stuff picked out already?!"

I can just see it.

Any ideas?? I'm searching all the wedding pages I can find to try to get ideas. I'm just so indecisive. Aagh!

doo-bee-do-be-dooooo…

Saturday, February 21, 2004
Now that I'm done redesigning my blog, I'm bored.

'Course, it doesn't help that the firewall here at work is locking down even more, so that any website with the word "game" in it gets blocked.

Still have 3.5 hrs left before my vacation starts...

Feh.

a new look

It was time to update the look of this place. My favorite color is purple, but I was getting tired of the same look.

So pink it is for a while. :o)

If you find anything broken, please let me know.

ants in my pants…

I'm fidgety today.. Maybe that's because it's my last day of work before two weeks & 1 day off for my wedding & the subsequent honeymoon.

It really sucks that today is my 12 hour shift. I still have 10 hours left before I can go home!

Beh.

the motherload…

Friday, February 20, 2004
I found a virtual treasure trove of photos today, at Stock Stash. Lots of really large, highly detailed photographs of various subjects.

I found lots of really nice flower photographs.. it's stirring the pot of creativity in my mind, to make a couple of new layouts for my blog.. Simple stuff, not anything complex like the idea I had at the beginning of the year... (Which I've referred to Moxie Design Studios to get a quote on how much it would cost if I wanted to hire them to put my idea together)

Yeah, just some simple, pretty flower layouts.

When spammers attack!

Thursday, February 19, 2004
We're just getting a deluge of spam at work today..
I swear I've deleted no less than seven "enlarge your penis" e-mails... the exact same e-mails, but from different senders.

Good grief.

Rain, rain, go away!!

I need to implement smilies in my blog so I can use the one that is bursting into tears:

weather for the weekend of my wedding

It figures.. the weather history I looked at showed that it has rained on that weekend (or the days of the 27th & 28th, rather) only like ONCE in the past five years. So now it has to go and rain a second time around.

Oh, and have I mentioned yet that my wedding is supposed to be outside? In Josh's mom's backyard?

Dammit.
