I do believe I've been comment-spammed...

The comment had nothing to do with the entry, and it was advertising a non-blog website... so it is spam.

I am going to ban that IP, and if was done by someone I know (or whose blog I read), e-mail me privately.

share a little of that luck, will ya?

In the last two weeks, there have been three new millionaires in Indiana.

One won half of the big Powerball jackpot. The drawing immediately thereafter was also won in Indiana.

The drawing from Wednesday was also won in Indiana.

Maybe I should move to Indiana. They seem to be luck-hogs. And here I thought those extra numbers the lottery officials added to the pool were supposed to make the drawings harder to win. Sheesh.

Bastards.

One of our cats has developed an odd phobia..

and it's not the cat we would have expected this sort of thing from.

Now that it's cooled off in Phoenix, we've shut off our A/C and have taken to opening the windows in our house, and leaving them open, all day (as long as we're home), and most of the night (while we're awake). While we sleep, we'll leave one or two windows open.

Let’s make a deal..

My offer still stands.. but now I will include all of the books on my wishlist...

Buy a book from my wishlist, and get a discount or an even trade for a sculpture.

Keep in mind I do dragons, mainly. I've sculpted a wizard-like person but haven't finished it yet, so people sculpts are possible.. but may take longer.

If you have something other than dragons in mind, e-mail me and we can discuss it..

I went ahead and bought the faux techniques book that I had wanted on hand for when I start making the Birthstone Dragons.. so it is no longer on my wishlist. I'll probably get it next week, I think. After I ordered it I found another faux technique book and added it to the wishlist. On the cover is a photo of an egg with faux abalone inlay... I tried to do faux abalone before, and it's not easy.

Anyway, I'm nearly done with the first Treasure Guardian dragon (or Dragon Mother, can't decide which it is going to be yet..).. when it's complete I'll put a few photos up for you all to view. It might be done by either Wednesday or next Saturday, depending on how much work I finish on it on my days off.

Toodles.

it’s about time!

About a mile or two from our home is a fairly major intersection.

For a while, the only thing on the corner of that intersection was a Walgreen's, on the northwest corner. On the southeast corner is the block fencing of an old-folk's neighborhood. On the southwest corner, also block fencing for an old folk's neighborhood. On the northeast corner, was an empty lot. For like two years.

Oh, and it was a four-way stop at the intersection, no stop-light.

taking it day by day…

No food poisoning, for the curious.
But next time I know where to look for that handy-dandy expiration date.

As for other things..... well, let's just say, I'd much rather be home sculpting, today more than ever.

I will refrain from discussing work, while I'm at work.

Oh, how I want to rant, but it must wait.

that tastes kinda funny…

When I buy the pre-made salads from Albertson's, I usually also buy a couple of the packets of salad dressing made by Litehouse.

I already had some Fresh Express bagged salads and tossed some into a ziplock to bring with me to work, along with some stinky cheese (feta), tuna and a packet of Litehouse ranch salad dressing from the fridge.

I always wondered where they put the expiration date on those, because I've never seen them stamped in ink anywhere on the packets.

I discovered today, after I ate half of my salad.

It's not inked anywhere on the packet, it is impressed on the side seam. And what was the date impressed in the seam?

02/09/03

Oh dear. I hope I didn't just give myself food poisoning. 😕 I've already experienced that once last year, and it ain't fun.

I guess I'll know in about five to seven hours or more.

...with champagne tastes on a beer budget.

Know anyone in need of any techno gear? (i.e. electronics, computers, etc)
We are trying to liquidate some of our stuff.

C'mon... You know you want some!

Oh, and yes, we will ship out of state for those readers not in Arizona.

Updated to add: I might be persuaded to part with my 20GB iPod, in case anyone may be interested in it.. I do use it, but I could be persuaded, for the right price.

Homie say what?

I'm sitting here at work, and an instant message pops up from a name I don't recognize and who isn't on my yahoo messenger list.

A couple of years ago I tried raising betta fish, and my main yahoo ID I used to sign up for Yahoo groups for betta fish breeders and betta keepers, and I put in my ID info that one of my interests was betta fish keeping. So, occassionally I'll get messages in Yahoo from people who I either talked to while I was on those lists or people who found my ID and see that I had an interest in raising bettas and fish keeping.

Sometimes I get messages from random strangers being weird. I don't know which category this guy fell into, he may have been a fellow betta fish keeper, I don't really remember.

I've noticed something that I find rather.... disturbing... recently, while out and about doing various errands that take me past high schools.

And it makes me very glad I don't have any teenage children right now....
