email broken…

Tuesday, February 15, 2005

Email to my domain is broken at the moment.. We asked our host to move us to a more stable server as the one we were on suffered downtime just about every week and we were tired of it.  The move went smoothly, except email to my domain, which is a secondary hosting on our account.

Hopefully it won’t take long to get fixed, but in the meantime, my g-mail link on the right should be useful if anyone needs to get in touch with me.

Wishful thinking, I know.

just testing something…

The word ‘meaningful’ when used today is nearly always meaningless.

sorry, IE viewers…

I got the issue with the sidebar in Safari fixed (it’s amazing what one small missing closing tag will do, except all but Safari was ignoring its absence).

But, I am not going to give myself a migraine trying to fix whatever it is that IE can’t seem to stomach with the CSS.  If you see odd white bars in the body of my posts and in the side bar where pink should be instead (not including the underline beneath the title), well, that’s just IE barfing on the CSS.  And since I rarely use IE other than giving the design a cursory once-over to make sure it’s at least somewhat presentable, I’m not going to worry about it.

Plus, with IE’s tendency to be so full of holes and the subject of many hacker attacks, well, it should be put to rest anyway.

IE is stupid..

My new skin looks so nice in Firefox, why must you be so stupid, IE??
Although I just checked it in Safari, and the side bar is all hokey.

It’s no wonder I gave up the idea of being a web designer for money.  All this browser compliance crap would make me nuts in the span of a few weeks.

:ahhh:

new skin - valentine

Just for the blog, though.  I don’t have the skin for the comments up yet, so it is defaulting to a basic one for now.  I’ll work on the part for the comments section later, I’m too pooped from wrestling with CSS tonight to worry about what’s left to do right now.

I had wanted to have this up before today, being Valentine’s and all, but, oh well.  It’s not the default skin so you’ll need to choose it over on the right.  “Valentine”

If anything other than comments is hokey, let me know.

Later.

okay, skins are back

Sunday, February 13, 2005

I haven’t added the new one I wanted yet, but I’m still working on it.  I just had to tweak some files so I can get the new skin to work without screwing up the others.  :cheese:

Site overhaul

Sorry if comments may be broken or may show old graphics…
I decided to completely overhaul the layout & I need to re-do the way I have my skins set up… So, I defaulted to a basic skin provided by Joelle of Blogmoxie during Expression Engine’s skin contest….

I don’t know how long this is going to take, but if you need to get in touch with me, my email address is in the contact link above.  😊

stinky house…

Saturday, February 12, 2005

Why is that after cooking dinner at home (in this case, tacos), the house REEKS the next morning?  No cracks about my cooking, now.  I am a decent cook (read: I don’t burn stuff, and no one has gotten sick or died from eating my cooking!).  For some reason, burger & onions cooked together just leaves the house stinky afterwards.

I would have opened the windows, but it’s raining cats & dogs.

I think I need to invest in some “Oust!”.  Bleh.

I sure hope we get a refund this year…

Saturday, February 05, 2005

‘cuz some of it is going toward paying for our U2 tickets.

And the concert is, ironically, on tax day.

Even better? If for some reason we decide not to go, we could probably ebay those babies for double what we paid, if not more.  They’re pretty good seats.

my sense of timing…

Wednesday, February 02, 2005

Just when I decide I want to try to make a new skin with some stock photos from stockstash.com, I find that the site has been closed down (possibly only temporarily)... and before I could get all the neat-o photos downloaded!  😠  There were lots of pretty flowers I had picked out, and some winter scenes… and… puh.

My timing is wonderful, I tell ya.
