I'd nearly forgotten that today is the day when the Lord of the Rings: Return of the King is being shown along with LotR I & II. That is, until I saw a couple of weirdoes at the mall dressed up in LotR garb.

I had an eye appointment this morning and rather than go home afterwards, only to leave within minutes of arriving to head to work, I just went to the mall near work to kill some time. I saw a lady dressed in a LotR type dress and thought it was odd. It didn't click until I saw a man/geek decked out in an elven robe, complete with the little elven leaf brooch/clasp at the neck. And wearing LotR garb underneath the robe.

A lady in the store was talking to him and I over heard him tell her that a whole bunch of people were lined up outside the movie theater all dressed up for the occasion.

I can understand dressing up for something like the Renaissance Festival, 'cause, you know, you wouldn't look out of place. Or, even a convention (like the Trekkies do). Or having a medieval themed wedding. But for a movie showing? Sorry, but I think that just makes you a weirdo.
