I always love finding bugs in my food.
In this guys case, he was in a head of cauliflower. That had been in the bottom of our refrigerator, which was beginning to freeze (bottom of frige very cold). And it was still alive.
After I cut the piece of cauliflower it was attached to and dropped it into a bowl with the other leaves, watched some t.v. and came back to the kitchen to clean up, it had moved from where it landed in the bowl, and attached itself to the leaf shown in the picture. Hardy little fellow.
I put him outside in the backyard in a cluster of weeds since I didn't want to kill it. Granted it may have gotten chilly outside, but it survived sitting at the bottom of a fridge nearly frozen for three days, so if anything it'll become bird food rather than die of exposure.
