Earlier this month I wrote an email to the manager of a LYS (local yarn store) to see if they needed any part-time help this summer. She wrote back a couple weeks later, and said they are, they need people to work full days, who know how to knit, cross stitch, and needlepoint. She asked me to drop by when I had an opportunity to.
I did so today. We chatted briefly, and she asked me if I knew how to cross stitch, since I had already mentioned in my email that I knit. I said I do know how to cross stitch. She then asked what days I had free. I told her Mondays & Tuesdays. She asked me if I could start next Monday.
I told her I could.
Wages are $7/hr (or $7.50? I suddenly can’t remember), plus a 20% employee discount.
That’s not bad at all. So I’m going to give it a whirl and see how it works out. Since I like knitting so much, maybe I’ll really enjoy working there. 😊
