The site was gone for a few days, and subsequently moved, too.  I set up a 301 redirect, so if it is working properly, you should still get here when you go to my old URL (but please update your bookmarks, thanks!).

I had to dump my whole subdomain folder and start over from scratch, because some nitwit hacked into my folders and placed some code to phish for our webserver account’s passwords.  Assholes.  Then I had to create a new directory structure so that whatever software the douchebags were using to hack in wouldn’t be able to find their way back to the same files.  I debated whether to put the blog directory back where it was, but I figured if I didn’t, any of the few readers I may have left (all two of you… no? one reader?  meh.) wouldn’t be able to find my site.  So all that’s in that directory now is the redirect.

I’ve also been trying to clamp down on the referrer spam and set up htaccess blocks.  Stupid spammers.  Every new one I find will be added to that list, and never shall they grace us with their presence any further… Bastiges!

Oh, and if you happen to be browsing back through my archives, and find a bunch of stuff that is broken (mostly images), that is because those were all linked to my old MT blog directory, and that one went bye-bye forever (as I suspect that may have been where the dumbshits gained access, after having a tech-savvy person look at the hacker’s code).  Maybe someday I’ll correct the pics, but I doubt it.  That was a lot of images, and I’d have to correct all the links to them.  No thanks!  More work than I’m willing to put up with at this point,  this invasion wore my patience to the breaking point.  Rebuilding the blog with minimal stuff in the directory was about all I had the motivation to complete.  Sorry.

I’m kind of mad though, because MT had a handy image uploading schema that made really nice and quick pop-up URL’s.  I never could get EE’s to work so I always used MT’s.  Oh well.  I guess no more pop-ups unless I can get it to work in EE.  That is for another day.

Oh, and no more trackbacks, either.  They were rarely used, and it’s one less thing that I’d need to chase down spammers on, if it started to be abused.
