my memory = sieve…
I swear, if my head weren’t attached…
Where was I? Oh yeah. I’m trying to remember where to get those little buttons I have on the sidebar. I thought I had the place bookmarked, but apparently I don’t. :red:
If someone could point me to the website that has all those nifty little buttons, I’d be ever so happy! Thanks!!
seeing red…
I decided last night while at the grocery, to try dying my hair again. It’s been proabably about a year & a half, if not longer, since I dyed it last.
I picked out a reddish color (two packages, since my hair is long and would need more than 1 bottle), and dyed it before watching Amazing Race last night.
I think it turned out ok. Although it’s probably not a huge change from the brown my hair was before, as no one at work has mentioned anything about it so far today, and in the past, usually at least one person notices and comments…
Other than that… I am looking forward to Friday. Not so much the plane trip itself, but the fact that at the end of the plane trip we’ll be in Orlando for five days. Wooo!
my blonde moment for the week…
Talk about making myself feel like an idiot….
This morning, I noticed that the front right tire on our truck was getting a little low.
It has an extreeeemely slow leak. So slow, it takes several weeks for it to get to where it was today.
Anyway, so after I paid for my coffee & diet vanilla pepsi & diet cherry vanilla Dr. Pepper at QuikTrip and walked back to the car, I decided to put air in that tire while I was at QT as I didn’t feel comfortable driving 45 miles to work with the tire low like it was. [It was probably at like 25psi instead of the 35 recommended for that tire]
Drove over to the air pump, saw that the air was free. Wooo!
Pulled air hose over to front right tire, took off the cap, and hooked up the air thingy.
Sat, and waited. Looked down at the tire, and wondered why it didn’t seem to be getting any air.
Waited a moment more. For a second I thought, “wow, their air compressor is mighty quiet”, and right on the heels of that thought was the realization that I didn’t push the button to turn on the stupid air compressor.
Eesh. Seems like the tire isn’t the only thing leaking air. :red:
See? A very blonde-moment, and I shared it with all of you!
But I blame it on having to wake up so damn early. Four a.m. after two months still isn’t jiving with my internal clock. I don’t really start to function well until after 8a.m…
in a holi-daze…
Today is kicking my ass. There are just too many tickets out to the LEC today. Bah!
Please, make it stop!!
Anyway…
Josh gave a quick update in his blog. Although he left out the trip up to my parents’ place in Prescott.
I got to see my sister’s daughter for the first time since she was born in July. She’s a real cutie. I have pictures, but there at home on the camera, so I’ll have to post them later.
I think the hats went over well with the kids. They got to wear them outside while we were there when they went out to ride their bikes. Because it was 37F degrees outside. During broad daylight. Brrr!!
I didn’t have a hat. Standing outside watching the kids ride their bikes in the chilly air, made me suddenly want to make myself a hat. Granted I’d probably use it only when we went up to visit, but I think I will make myself one if even just for that.
The laugh of the day was courtesy of my nephew. The first time he rode down the hill on his bike, he lost control and wiped out. We laughed (we were up the hill & out of earshot of my nephew), and then since the kid was crying, I jogged down to help him up, brush him off and tell him he was all right (he only had a scratch on his hand). He stopped crying shortly thereafter. Aside from the scratch, I think it was mostly his pride that was hurt. Besides, he’s four years old, so he’s made of rubber, you know.
As Josh mentioned, we’re gearing up for our vacation to Florida. I can hardly wait. Time off from work will be enjoyed by all.
And then it will be time to start the Christmas shopping.
Why yes, I am a procrastinator. Why do you ask? 😝
toast… toast!
How do you burn one side of a piece of toast?
IHOP’s toaster must be in a funk. One side was a nice golden toast color, the other was scorched.
Yuck.
what impeccable timing…
I think one of my wisdom teeth is trying to come in. :grrr:
My gums on the lower left side feel tender & sore… if you’ve had braces, you may know this feeling.. just after getting them tightened, how your teeth would feel if you chewed on something chewy afterwards? That sort of good hurt? That’s how my gums feel in that area. And I am so NOT happy about it.
We’re due to go on vacation in two weeks.
So if this doesn’t subside, I’ll have to find a good dentist inside that two week period, schedule an appointment, go through the whole rigamarole of setting up as a new patient, get my wallet bent over the table since we don’t have dental coverage, and probably get the tooth yanked… which I hope won’t have to happen before vacation, since I’d rather not spend my vacation trying to recover from a tooth yankin.
*sigh*
I wouldn’t be too worried about it if there were room for it back there, but there isn’t.
Damn tooth.
Oh, can anyone tell me about how long it takes to recover from a wisdom tooth pullin’?
yay for holiday pay…
We decided to volunteer to work the day after t-day. We figured the extra money would be nice, it will help with Christmas shopping.
Aside from the extra money, working on a holiday blows chunks. Mainly because the skeleton crew is relegated to working a twelve hour shift. Bleh.
No, I’d rather not be out shopping with the rest of the nuts out there. The nuts that wake up at 3 or 4 am to be at stores that are opening their doors at 5:00-6:00a.m… I swear places are opening earlier and earlier as the years go by… Pretty soon they’ll be opening at 12:01a.m. the night of Thanksgiving.
Although it was oddly not busy at the new IKEA when we drove by at 9:45a.m… But then maybe IKEA is more of a place to buy for oneself rather than others… I dunno, haven’t been there myself yet.
Anyway… now to find something to entertain myself for another 7 hours.
Let’s see… I have my knitting… I have my Gameboy… and I could probably play around with a template for the EE gallery… hmm. Well, I have buttons to sew onto a sweater for my sister’s baby so I can bring it up to Prescott on Sunday.. I think I’ll start with that. toodle-ooo.
like a ton of bricks…
45 minutes left in my shift, and I suddenly feel like I need a serious, hour-long, nap!
I didn’t have any turkey today, that’s not on the menu until tomorrow.
What the heck??
Thank goodness we don’t have to wake up at 4am tomorrow.
Or the next day, even though we’ll be working then… but not until 10am (yay!!)...
Or Saturday, either (‘cuz we talked the boss into letting us go in at 8am instead of 6 since we volunteered to work a 12 hr shift on Friday!).
I’d pull out my knitting but mgmt is still around, so that’ll have to wait until the car trip home.
Bleh.
nifty…
I think the image gallery in EE is nifty. I still have to tweak the look of it, right now it’s the default template, but there are several images there now. Some of them I moved from my MT photoblog, which, because I hadn’t set it up to send me an email whenever someone commented there, I hadn’t realized that it was being spammed. Heh.
Anyway, I also added about 56 photos (the ones that weren’t blurred) from our tour of Kartchner Caverns. Those are just the ones from my own camera. Not sure where the ones Josh took are. Probably still on the memory card.
A link to the gallery is over on the right, under my “About” section. “Niki’s Photoblog”. The name of the link is the same, but it now points to the EE gallery.
I really like the batch entries option in the gallery. All I had to do was upload the lot from Kartchner via an FTP client into the batch folder, EE sees them in the folder and begins the entry submissions. You name the title (change it, rather, since it comes up as the name of the photo), put in a caption, select the category for the picture, and hit “submit”. Then it publishes that entry, and automatically goes to the next photo. And so on & so forth until all of the images in the batch have been submitted as an entry. Much easier than going one by one via “new entry”, as with that option you have to pick the file to upload, upload it via EE, then do the entry stuff.
All in all, though, it’s pretty cool.
Now to go figure out how I want to change the layout for that page…
see, nice & quick…
Well, that was pretty painless.
Now to play around with the Image Gallery module, and see what else is new. 😊
