and the next item up for bid….

Thursday, November 27, 2003
I listed a few electronics on eBay.. I still have one or two more things to list.

I had four things listed, but the amazing thing is that I listed a Palm Tungsten T at 10:10pm, with a "Buy It Now" option. Three hours later, someone snatched that thing right up. And paid already. How's that for fast? I haven't sold many things on eBay, so I can safely say that is the fastest something I've listed has ever sold.

Nifty. I do believe that will be some Christmas spending money!

Oh, and btw... Happy Thanksgiving!

restless

Tuesday, November 25, 2003
That's how I feel today, because I'm coming up to a five day weekend (which Josh is a little jealous of because he only gets a four day weekend).

The gold dragon I've been working on needs one last bake and it will be done (but without a scenery base), and I'll probably set it aside to start working on a birthstone dragon that Beth has asked me to do. I'm still trying to decide whether to include a "jewel" that the dragon will be holding (or is attached somewhere on its body, or its tail is curled around, etc), in addition to modelling the color of the dragon itself after the birthstone, or if I should just do the color and that is all.

Including a gem would also give me the freedom to make the color of the dragon itself to the buyer's preference.. So, for instance, if your birthday was in April (diamond) and your favorite color was purple, you could ask for a purple dragon holding a "diamond" (but it would really be a CZ or white topaz, you know, to keep the price reasonable!).

Yeah, I think I'll open that option up. So either way, if you prefer the dragon's body color to emulate the month's birthstone, or for it to be a chosen color grasping a simulated birthstone, the options are wide open.

why can’t they just get rid of her?!

We've never really been the type to watch reality T.V. aside from COPS. We never saw the big draw of Survivor. But Animal Planet's "King of the Jungle" did pique our interest.

We've been watching it every week since it started. From the start, we've wanted Kelly to get kicked off.

But she just keeps hanging on. We were so hoping that she was going to get the boot tonight. But NOooOOo..... She "survives" again. Ugh.

She just annoys me. I don't really quite know what it is exactly. But our fingers are crossed that next week she'll be gone.

loosening up that belt buckle…

This week is going to be full of turkey dinners..
The first one will be tomorrow. Turkey courtesy of Josh & I, for spending over $250 at Basha's. w00t! Free turkey! Dinner prepared by Josh's grandmother (on his dad's side).

The next one will be on Turkey Day itself. Dinner prepared by Josh's mom. I hear it might be a really full house that day.

The last one will be at my parents house, probably the Saturday after T-Day. Dinner prepared by my dad.

Mmmmm... Turkey....

farking banks..

Does anyone reading this get bills from Capital One? What do their envelopes look like? Do they look very similar to their credit card solicitation envelopes?

I ask because supposedly Capital One had already mailed out my bill for the loan I got to do my lasik surgery, but I don't recall seeing it. We get assloads of credit card solicitations, so I probably presumed it was just another one of those. Fortunately I keep those things for a couple of months before tossing them out, so all I have to do is go through the stacks when I get home and see if I can locate it...

It's late already (was due Nov 6) but the guy I talked to on the phone waived the late fee due to the circumstances. If I find them (there will be one for the Nov 6 pmt and one for the upcoming Dec 6 due date) and find that they look nearly identical to Capital One's solicitation envelopes, I'm gonna be quite pissed.

What really sucks is that they don't have online access for making payments on this type of loan. What the hell is up with that? I can apply on line but I can't pay online? That doesn't exactly seem fair. Feh. Stupid banks.

strange behaviour, pt 2

It's not an MT thing, 'cause other e-mails are coming to me with attachment on them, too.. It seems to be mostly plain text e-mails, the HTML ones are fine... but it's not ALL plain text e-mail, because I just sent a test message from my yahoo account and work both as plain text and they came through normally.. and it isn't specific to a particular e-mail address, because I'm getting this on two different e-mail addresses. Very odd.

Will try updating Outlook to see if that gets rid of the oddity.

Custody battle, nearly overwith

Thursday, November 20, 2003
Well, my brother has custody of his daughter now. I am not sure if it is full custody or not (her mother is still allowed to call her to talk, supervised by my brother), but at least she is home.

However, her brother is still in foster care in Iowa. Apparently because my brother isn't "foster parent" qualified, he cannot take custody of his daughter's brother, because he is not his blood relative. The only good thing about him staying in foster care is it means he's not being given back to his mother. And the foster mother is a decent woman, and the boy has improved many times over since being given to her care.

Eventually I hope that maybe my brother can get custody of his daughter's brother as well, as he is technically the only father that boy has known his entire life. His own blood father relinquished all parental rights before he was even born. (his mother is a manipulative bitch who was purposely getting pregnant by miltary men to "trap" them... the other guy washed his hands of her completely, but my brother fell for her ploy, hook, line and sinker... she ended up running up all sorts of credit cards in his name, ran him $50K in debt in a matter of weeks...)

But anyway, it's good to know he at least got his daughter. She's certainly much happier for it.

strange behaviour

Hmm. Suddenly my comments are coming to me as attachments. I don't know if that is a thing with MT or Outlook.

Oh, for the love of god!!

Who in their right mind would let their children stay with someone who looks like THIS?!?!

That man is looking more and more like a walking corpse. Such a shame. He was fairly handsome back in the day. Now he's just a freak.

Is there a banshee in the building?

Somewhere else I stopped at yesterday while I was out and about was Fry's Electronics, to pick up some nifty CD/DVD jewel cases.

It was after I had dinner with Josh at Chipotle. Mmmmmmm... Chipotle....

Anyway, I was also looking for a fuse for my a/c car adapter for my CD player, thinking it was broken ('cause I plug it into the lighter port and no juice gets to the CD player).. While I was perusing the fuse isle, I heard, from halfway across the store, this kid just SCREAMING at the top of its lungs. Incessantly. (I say "its lungs" because I don't know if it was a girl or a boy)

I kept muttering under my breath that if that fucking parent didn't get that child out of the freaking building I was going to hunt the thing down and strangle it. They were at the registers, as that was where the banshee-screams were emanting from. I can only imagine what the people in direct ear-shot of those blood curdling screams were thinking.

Probably the same thing as me. Get that thing out of this store before I wrap my purse strap around its neck and shut it the fuck up FOR you...

Man.... when I have kids, if it starts screeching like that in a store, I'll peel my socks off my feet and stuff it in their mouths and haul them out of the store, the second they don't shut up the first time they're told to do so.

I don't understand parents who just stand there and let their child continue annoying the hell out of everyone within hearing range.

Oh, and by the way.. there is also a new entry in "SuperSecret".
