aaahhhhhh….. that’s niiiiiice…
After we got back from buying a second hose to make filling the pool go more quickly, and because it’s trip-digits Fahrenheit plus almost 20% humidity, we threw together the ladder and initiated our pool. Granted it had only about a foot and a half of water in it, but damn, it was nice!
We stayed in until our fingers pruned (maybe 45 minutes? an hour?), and the water level had gained a few inches.
I’m glad we got the pool.
Now that we have more reason to go into our back yard, we’re going to have to work on finishing it… I’d also like to eventually add a covered patio, ‘cuz we chose not to pay extra to get one when we had the house built, and, I don’t know about Josh, but I’m kind of regretting it now. Our yard faces south, so it gets ALL of the sun. Without a covered patio, there is pretty much no reason to go back there in the summer. Well, until now, anyway.
Did I mention I’m glad we got the pool? Yeah, I think I did. 😊
Well, off to go knit or something.

Pool buildin’ guys got here at about 5:30.. They’re opening all the boxes and sorting the pieces of the pool.
I’ll be taking pictures of their progress. 😊

birds of a feather…
Hmm. There were three four news helicopters hovering above our neighborhood about 15 minutes ago
right now.. We flipped on the news to see if anything “newsbreaking” was going on, but nada, zip, zilch.
The only thing I could find was an article from this morning in regards to a small plane crashing yesterday afternoon. The airport in the article is not too far north of us.
I suppose it’s possible they were filming shots from the wreckage of that crash, but why show up now? It happened yesterday.
I thought I saw something like smoke up north, but it was really faint, almost dust-like. So I’m not really sure what it was.
Guess we’ll have to wait until later tonight to find out what the ruckus is all about.
If anyone finds out while we’re sleeping today, give a holler in comments.

Rain, rain, go away!!
weather for the weekend of my wedding
It figures.. the weather history I looked at showed that it has rained on that weekend (or the days of the 27th & 28th, rather) only like ONCE in the past five years. So now it has to go and rain a second time around.
Oh, and have I mentioned yet that my wedding is supposed to be outside? In Josh's mom's backyard?
Dammit.

It’s a sick, sick, world…
I know there was a 50% chance of her being found alive, but I knew deep down she wouldn't be. I don't suppose there are many abductions like that where the story has a happy ending like it did for Elizabeth Smart. She was one of the lucky ones.
R.I.P., Carlie.
